In 1999 the idea to switch from darkroom to lightroom became reality. By the investment in a computer, a scanner and a printer I could manage the workflow at home, except for developing the color films. The walls at home were filled up with photos in sizes up to A3+ and it was frustrating to just take the old ones down and replace them with new ones with no other audience than the family and my closest friends.

That was the point I started to think about an exhibition. It took some time to gather the courage for a public exposure of my photographic work. In May 2000, however, I put up my first photo exhibition in the facilities of my employer at that time. It was very inspiring to select the photos and try to make the best prints I was able to with my at that time very limited skills in digital imaging and printing. Now, eight years later I must admit than most of them I could do better.  But still there are some which are quite OK, because they give me a special feeling when I look at them. This feeling is not dependent on the technical quality of the photo, but it is there because the image has caught a moment of significance.

After the ice was broken I overcame my doubts about my photographic skills much easier and I have since then had several small private exhibitions. I have also particiapted in group exhibitons. One special group called "A n d e r s s o n" was formed after a workshop held by Anders Petersen in 2003. This group has had six exhibitions and published a small book with selected photographs from the exhibitions.

In the spring 2006 Jan Eklund joined me in a more serious attempt and we arranged an exhibition together in the commercial Galleria Raami in Helsinki. In the autumn 2006 we took a selection of these photos for an smaller exhibition. In February 2007 an expanded exhibition could be seen in galleriZebra in Karis/Karjaa. More information here.

A much bigger effort was the exhibition "Father" where we worked for quite a time with the theme and finding our own approach to the subject. Also the setup on the walls was made in a really professional way thanks to the substantial funding granted for teh exhibition. The exhibition was opened in October 2007 in Helsinki and is now on its country tour.

In September 2008 we opened together with Peter Forsgård the most ambitious exhibition in our careers. It is called Human an the exhibition took place in a very central commercial gallery in Helsinki.
